Wings for Spring

I have been busy today working on the goals I set for myself..getting better. Here are Spring's wings..I have redone her arm and will have her hand done by tomorrow evening.

Feet and hand tomorrow. Watermarking everything. Getting easier to follow the steps. Still a few missed steps...but caught up. Worked on Facebook business page..And then spent time with Cory at the school. A busy day!

Goals

Today we set our goals for this week on the Artist to Artist facebook page. Mine are
1.  Finish my little dragonfly wing fairy.
       a. working on her hands and then she will be ready for hair and wings. And I am thinking about her outfit.

2.  Learn how to watermark my photos.
       a. Got a good start on that. I spent way to much time on the computer today learning stuff, but,     had to be done.
       b.  I tried out two programs for watermarking. Still need to decide which one I like. One is really easy, but I can see how to export and one on my computer(Windows 10) is much more difficult but I think because it is on my computer it would be better to learn. Stuff running around in my head!

3.  Start the new face for the two fairy bodies I have waiting for heads.
      a.  Working on one. I think it is going to be cute. She has gray/lavender eyes.

4.  Not on the list but I just baked one little mermaid in a shell. So forward movement and baking one hand. I worked on those fingers..hope they hold their shape. They ate so tiny.

5.  Wrote on my blog.

Artist to Artist Class

The Artist to Artist live class was awesome. Just so full of information and encouragement. I highly recommend if you are an artist of any medium... Join this group. It crosses all forms of art. I am just enjoying being a part of the group.

Sunday live class

Today I am waiting to go live online to take a class by Adele of the www.facebook.com/artisttoartist . It is a marketing and selling your art page and I am so glad she is doing this. It is a mystery to me how to get my art seen, while living in a remote Alaskan Fishing Village. So I am all ready for the class.

Adele also gave me some pointers on the power point I need to learn to present to the En Plein Aire painting group during the summer solstice. She is a generous person.

Oh dear...two minutes. Need to get over to the site. I will be back and tell you how the class went!!

Tonight

More photos
You can see that her fingers are too thick. I think I need to take her hand off and redo it before I bake her. Taking it off and working on it separately is easier than working on it still attached to the body. And I think I will give her much smaller ears and perhaps make them a little pointy. Legs and arm muscles need working on. Trying to go slow and really focus on getting it right.

New Fairy with Green Wings

I am halfway through sculpting a new little "green wing" fairy. I hope she will tell me her name soon.. Green Wing just seems so plain.

.
.

Working on her hands. I am pretty sure they need to be smaller. And her ears too. But this is all I am doing tonight. I had company all day and did not get to do any sculpting at all. But she did have her first bake and tomorrow I will finish her hands, bake and start on her feet. I would like them to be bare, so that I can practice on sculpting toes.

A big wind

A big wind is blowing outside....bringing in Spring(no doubt). The gusts will probably keep the fairies and I up all night. They have been flitting around all day with nervous energy! We were visited by Cory today, my 5 year old grandson. He loves to play and we had a great time outside. The fairies hide when he comes, but they love watching his antics. He thinks up more things than even the fairies!!

Today he was trying to trick the crows. He doesn't know they are called the "tricksters" and they played hide and seek with the food he tossed out all day. He would hide the food and they would find it. What fun to watch.

I will be back to sculpting tomorrow. I have several ..15 mermaid faces...and 8 hermit faces...tomorrow I will work on bodies... Of course the fairies will help me...they are the best helpers...unless they are in to mischief...then..not so much!

Second Fairy finished

My little Brown Moth Fairy is done and listed on my Etsy shop. Here are some photos.

I think she turned out cute. Now I am working on the third in the series. And focusing on her toes and fingers. They are the hardest for me.
Today I worked on hermit faces and planted a few seeds for the spring vegetable garden. Lettuce, cabbage, sweet million tomatoes, and broccoli ..

Wings and hair

Worked on her hair and her wings today.
Lots more to do...but it will need to wait until tomorrow.

I think when I paint her face I will give her "freckles"! Fun!

March 11

While one is baking, I am working on my next little fairy! Here she is ... I haven't really settled on this pose yet nor have I decided on which wings...
She needs shoulders and a lot more. Lots to do...but sometimes just making the decision on what pose and what wings....which decides the color scheme I will use on the rest of the Fairy. One step at a time.

Boots

A fairy wind blew through the studio last night on the cold night air and here is the result! New boots!
I will continue working on them today and post photos after they are baked. Also making hands. Progress.

Meanwhile outside it is 19* clear and beautiful. The snow is bright in the sunshine and sparkles like glitter. A good day to be inside with the Fairies!

Brown Moth Fairy

Here is what I have been working on today. The Fairy Wind is blowing strong around the studio today!.. And bringing lots of creative energy from the wild Seldovia Fairies.
Here she is in the sunshine! I can hardly wait to get her hands and feet sculpted!
Will post more photos as I go.

Snowy day in the Fairy Wind Studio

Hi everyone,

It is snowing today outside the studio and it is beautiful. I am baking bread and beginning my sculpting day. I have several fairy bodies to work on and here is a photo of them.
These are a couple of the poses.. I will take more photos this afternoon.

Snowy day outside the Fairy Wind Studio...but inside it is warm and cozy. I am working on my Brown Moth Fairy and starting a new face.
This is the new face I have started and below is the Brown Moth Fairy face. She has a body now. I will find a photo of her body in progress and post.

My next Fairy will have these wings. Wow! I really like them
She will be a little Brown Moth Fairy. I will post photos as I work.

The Butterfly Whisperer

I am starting a new Fairy Series. This first little fairy I am calling the Butterfly Whisperer. She is sweet in all pink and light lavender. With a little butterfly that matches her butterfly wings sitting on her finger.
I am striving this year to write in my blog each day and post what I am working on. I just applied for her International Art Doll Registration Number. A little nervous I have not done this before. I contacted Fredo just in case I run in to trouble. He is the most helpful individual and very talented.

I have 4 or 5 armatures with almost finished bodies for fairies and now I am working on faces to go with them.

Here are the wings I have finished for the new fairies.
