More Wip photos

More Wip photos of Kia. Documenting her progress.

I could not decide on a pose...indecision slows me down.

Kia WIP

A work in progress! How I sculpted her.

February 28th..the last day

Today was the last day to get my sculpt entered in to the Art from the Soul Challenge. I made it! Surprise! She has a Registry Number 20192383 and is entered in to the Novice section.

Kia is finished!

Kia is finished. I named her today. I sure put that off a long time!

She turned out pretty nice I think!
Lots of work and many hours of doing and re-doing. I finally had to just "do it".

Another pose!

Tomorrow is the day I will put on the hands and finalize the pose and bake her... I hope!!

Hands!

The hands are giving me fits! I hope I can get the fingernails and knuckles to look correct! Tomorrow is the day I have set to have them on the sculpt!

February 15th progress

I have been working on my little fairy. I still have no name for her. But here is a photo so far.
And here is another view of her..and then her hands
I am working on her hands. I want them to be expressive and feminine! They are giving me a bit of trouble.

My studio and where I photograph my work

This is my studio! Needs to be better organized...a little at a time. But now I can work in it.

More photos

Here are some photos of my work in progress! I always learn a lot...now if I could just remember it!
And here is another. She is starting to take shape and she needs to be done by the end of February for entry into the "Art from the Soul" show at IADR!
And then one more … just because!
Hands are started... they will take me awhile! As will the feet!

February 2, 2019

Today has been a great day! My yogurt maker arrived. I am so happy! Yahoo!  Ok back to the sculpts. Here is a photo of what she looked like before I fixed her shoulder.
And how she looks now. Fixed her arm and shoulder and worked on her pose. Found a cool base for her too.
Hands, feet, hair and wings...are coming soon!

Posed

This is the pose I started with and ended up breaking a wire in her upper shoulder..so I needed to fix that...as the sculpts need the armature for support.
ok,  what do you think?  The pose has changed and I will post more photos tomorrow!

More wips

This is my first attempt at Genisis Heat set paints. I like it so far. The skin tone looks so real. She really is much farther along than this. I will post more photos.

My current WIP (work in progress)

I was hoping I would have her done by the end of January but, I broke a wire in her armature and had to redo the arm. I am a little behind but I am sure she will be ready for next months show.

Links!

Trying to learn if I can add "links" to this page.www.sandeeelvsaas.com OMG! it worked.  I am surprised I wonder if I can go back and edit and add that to a post I just published.

And my Etsy page www.afairywind.etsy.com and my Facebook page www.facebook.com//afairywind  I did it! I hope you will go visit my links and let me know if they work!

What a difference 6 months make.

So much has happened since last May! Visits from relatives. Was featured artist during the summer sols
tice festival(that was fun!). Taught a class for SVT on watercolor, had some amazing students. Purchase a godaddy website name. Held a fall paint around my table for the watercolor girls, until the weather got to bad. Made a quilt for the Pre-school group!

I have moved all of my art supplies and sculpting supplies upstairs and made my studio functional. (Shock)!

My daughter, Stephanie, came for Thanksgiving! Happy me!

I have just been gathering up loose ends and learning new things. Trying my best to move forward or what I think is forward. Although I have not yet totally completed a work of art. I did paint and mat several watercolors this fall. But not many. Just a few.

New Year! New goals!

Yesterday my new website was launched  www.sandeeelvsaas.com was officially launched with links and pages etc!

Fredo Hernandez did a wonderful job. He and Deb Wood have been so supportive. I am just floating with happiness!

The first of February already and I am applying for State, City and Borough licenses and permit. OMG! What a lot of paperwork!
