Next Fairy to be finished

This little fairy is almost done. She only needs wings and I am waiting for her new owner to let me know.

I hope she lets me know soon as I would like to get her finished and mailed out.

Goals

Last year I made several goals for myself concerning my sculpting and artwork. And they were
1.  Finish the pieces you start. No matter how much a certain part bugs you.
2.  Enter at least one of the challenges in the sculpting group I belong to which is International Art Doll Registry.
3.  Work on my blog and get a website.
4. Put myself out there for people to see what I do.
5. Attend at least one Craft Sale. (just made that one)
6. Work on inventory....in case I decide to be a vendor this summer

Well, I did it! I reached them and then some. The finishing was the hardest one. But so glad I did. I finished 5 ...4 fairies and an elf.  So happy.

I also purchased a Banner that Deb Wood created for me. Got matching business cards, address labels and stickers.

So now I am thinking about next year 2020.
1.  I have already signed up for the 4 challenges in the IADR group. This will be stretching me a bit.

I haven't put anything else on the list yet. But I will be adding to it.

More...finishing up

Trying to decide which setting to use.
I like the horn setting the best!

Pose and setting

Trying to decide how to pose her and what to use for a base.

This is the reference photo I used to get the pose.

I named her Linaria

Here are some more photos of how I made her.

A few photos of how I work.

Making a Fairy

Making a fairy starts with an armature.

Here is where she start. One step at a time.

Little green fairy

The little green fairy, Linaria, is on her way to her forever home. I sure hope her new owner loves her.
She took me quite awhile to finish her up.
She turned out so cute.
I will post more photos of how I made her.

A foggy Sunday Morning

Foggy today in Seldovia. No planes flying yet...but maybe this afternoon. What a perfect day for the Fairies to be out and about! Heading upstairs to see what they have been up to in the studio. This is a little fairy that is heading up to Fairbanks. She is my Blueberry Fairy...so sweet.

Shell people

I love these little "shell people". They just have so much personality. They also make me smile...sometimes they turn out so funny!
I think this one needs a "shell phone"...must be talking to her grandkids!
A hat...a little bling and some makeup and she is all set for a day in downtown Seldovia!
The rains have come to this little Alaskan Village that I live in. Which means time to come inside and start working in the studio. I have several pieces to finish up and my little Blueberry Fairy to mail off to her new home. I will miss her. She will be joined soon by a 14 inch elf. Not quite finished with him...he needs clothes
And then there are the shell people. 12 of those almost done.
They just make me smile!

More Wip photos

More Wip photos of Kia. Documenting her progress.

I could not decide on a pose...indecision slows me down.

Kia WIP

A work in progress! How I sculpted her.

February 28th..the last day

Today was the last day to get my sculpt entered in to the Art from the Soul Challenge. I made it! Surprise! She has a Registry Number 20192383 and is entered in to the Novice section.

Kia is finished!

Kia is finished. I named her today. I sure put that off a long time!

She turned out pretty nice I think!
Lots of work and many hours of doing and re-doing. I finally had to just "do it".

Another pose!

Tomorrow is the day I will put on the hands and finalize the pose and bake her... I hope!!

Hands!

The hands are giving me fits! I hope I can get the fingernails and knuckles to look correct! Tomorrow is the day I have set to have them on the sculpt!

February 15th progress

I have been working on my little fairy. I still have no name for her. But here is a photo so far.
And here is another view of her..and then her hands
I am working on her hands. I want them to be expressive and feminine! They are giving me a bit of trouble.
